Ask Elnora!

Thirty Years of Happily Ever After–Day 6 of sharing books!

Thank you for the many comments here and on other social media outlets. I love sharing my celebrations with my readers. Although I wrote from grammar school and on–writing short stories and selling them for a quarter on the playground–I didn’t get published until 1993. I had met an editor at a conference in New Orleans a year or so before. She told me to send her something, and she sent an example of their books to my room. That was Avalon Publishing. I eventually sent her a proposal and then she asked for the rest of the sweet romance. I’ll tell you what happened the day I got the call, but that’s a story for another time.

Right now, I want to make sure I have everyone so far who will receive a book from me soon:

Mary Garner, Sue Holland, Jackie Tatum, Roxanne Cruz, and yesterday’s is Barbara Bailey Wolford!

You get a book, and you get a book, and you get a book!

  1. The cover of Secrets of an Amish Garden is pretty. Now I’m anticipating the story about the phone call regarding the story sent to Avon Publishing. I didn’t expect the blog post to have a cliffhanger.

  3. Such a lovely book cover! Amish fiction is one of my favorite genres to read. I love that you sold your stories on the playground. It’s wonderful that writing was so important to you at such an early age.
